Thailand’s Transport Minister, Santi Promphat, has said he will take action against unregistered taxis operating at Suvarnabhumi airport, the Bangkok Post has reported. Registered taxi drivers complained that gangs of unregistered taxis sneak into the airport, pick up passengers and charge them inflated prices.
“Unregistered taxis could create a negative image not only for AoT (Airports of Thailand) but the country as a whole if they cause trouble for foreign tourists,” Santi said.
