Banyan Tree branches out
Banyan Tree is looking to go global, with the launch of its luxury resort brand in key markets such as the UK and US, ChannelNews Asia has reported. Banyan Tree currently has development projects in the Middle East, Northern Africa, the Mediterranean and Mexico, and Banyan Tree Holdings Executive Chairman, Ho Kwon Ping, said he believes that the future of the resort chain lies in increasingly global markets; “We have decided to go for global expansion as a necessary imperative, in order to survive and be sustainable in the long term.”
Ho continued to say that the group was looking for asset acquisition possibilities in key Western markets; “I guess our radar is operating right now and we are always looking for opportunities. I think, Banyan Tree New York, Chicago, or London – well you never know.”
To manage this global growth, Banyan Tree intends to dramatically increase their worldwide staffing levels, more than doubling the personnel from 9,000 to 20,000.
