Beijing museum battles hands-on visitors

Authorities at the National Art Museum of China have said they are struggling with a huge influx of visitors who try to touch the exhibits. The China Daily reported that since the Beijing attraction become free-to-enter recently, it has experienced a surge in visitors, many of whom appear to be unaware of the museum’s ‘no-touching’ policy. An estimated 12,000 people passed through the museums doors last weekend, compared to the usual daily average of 2,000. But the large crowds are causing problems for the 70-strong security team.
