Winner of Tourism Queensland’s Best Job in the World campaign Ben Southall was donned an honorary marine biologist at Tangalooma Island Resort last night.
Ben joined Tangalooma’s resident marine biologists to host the resort’s nightly wild dolphin feeding program.
Tangalooma’s wild dolphin provisioning program has been operating since 1992 and is one of the only internationally recognised dolphin feeding programs in the world.
Tangalooma’s marine biologist Aleisha Constein was thrilled to have the opportunity to share her experiences as a marine biologist with Ben.
“Working as a marine biologist at Tangalooma has provided me with so many amazing experiences and it was fantastic to be able to share a few of these with Ben,” Ms Constein said.
“Showing him how we work to conserve the marine life of Moreton Bay was great as he has such a strong voice and is known so well throughout the world.
“We know that he’ll be able to share his experiences at Tangalooma and help to promote the conservation of Moreton Bay,” she said.
Accompanied by his girlfriend Bre, Ben also enjoyed exploring Moreton Island as part of his visit.
He participated in a few of Tangalooma’s most well known activities, including sand tobogganing, quad biking and parasailing.
Ben concludes his role as island caretaker in the next few weeks and Tangalooma looks forward to welcoming him to the resort again one day.
