Wedding TV crowns Llangoed Hall Hotel in Wales as
“The Best of British Wedding Venues”
Wedding TV can today announce Llangoed Hall in Wales as “The Best of British Wedding Venues,” as voted online by the channel’s viewers and fans.
Hosted by Carol Smillie (Changing Rooms), The Best of British Wedding Venues was a brand new and exclusive series to Wedding TV in September and asked viewers to vote for their favourite wedding venue in the UK online at www.weddingtv.com
Last night, Carol announced the Welsh venue as the winner, in the final episode of the series. Wedding TV’s online video clip for vote-winner Llangoed Hall, part of Legacy Hotels & Resorts, boasted over 50,000 views throughout the competition. Over 300,000 views were recorded in total for the venue videos at weddingtv.com
Llangoed Hall, formerly known as Llangoed Castle, is a truly impressive building dating from 1632 and strikes an imposing picture in the Wye Valley near the village of Llyswen, in Mid Wales. Set within 17 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, it is the ‘home from home’ that you would expect from your ‘best friend’s Country House.’
Drayson Kohli, General Manager of Llangoed Hall, Wales said: “We are all delighted to have been acknowledged in this way. Weddings are such a personal experience and to have received such an award is a tribute to the heritage of the property and the small team of people who work so hard to make each bride’s day so very special.”
Andy Townsend, Chief Executive Officer - Legacy Hotels & Resorts said: “It is smashing to see a hotel stand out amongst such a strong selection of competitors. I am extremely pleased to have this hotel as part of our rapidly expanding portfolio throughout the UK, Jersey and Southern Spain - it is a real gem in our crown.”
Other shortlisted venues included Addington Place in Surrey, The Adanaiseig Hotel in Scotland, London’s Beauberry House in Dulwich, Newquay’s Lusty Glaze, Chillingham Castle in Northumberland, The HAC and one of the most unlikely wedding venues the UK has to offer, London Zoo.
In each show, viewers were taken on a personal guided tour of each of the 27 shortlisted locations, where they learnt about the history of the property, as well as the wedding service each location offers.
