Best Western is set to continue its expansion into Africa with three Nigerian properties. The hotel chain has noticed potential in the country following popular demand. “There are around 1,000 beds in Nigeria but demand for 9,000,” said Neville Graham, director international member services at Best Western International. “There is potential for more hotels as few chains have opened there and we will be looking into areas such as Accra as well.” Graham hoped that the Best Western brand would generate more interest in the new destination, to leisure consumers as well as business travellers. Meanwhile, the group has outlined possible growth in Turkey following its preferred partner agreement with Turkish Airlines. “We have 15 hotels in the European side but want to expand into other areas,” added Graham.
