Luc Costermans of Belgium has broken the world blind road speed record, on an airstrip in France, the BBC has reported. Costermans reached a speed of 308.78km/h in his Lamborghini Gallardo at Istres, near Marseille, smashing the previous best of 268km/h, set by the UK’s Mike Newman three years ago.
Costermans thanked his co-pilot, Guillaume Roman, saying: “I’m very, very happy. It’s a team effort.”
