Boeing’s inaugural Boeing 747-8 freighter customer has refused to accept delivery of two new aircraft. Cargolux Airlines International was due to launch its first flight today and take delivery of the second plane on Wednesday. Instead Boeing has been forced to put the champagne on ice, cancelling a host of celebratory events. Cargolux has not elaborated on the details of the “unresolved issues” at hand. Company spokesman Jim Proulx simply told Bloomberg that certain “contractual issues” meant the company could not accept delivery of the aircraft.
