Canada-based planemaker, Bombardier Inc, expects Chinese carriers to buy its in-development CSeries plane this year. Bloomberg reported the company’s CEO, Pierre Beaudoin, as saying that Bombardier is speaking to more than one possible customer in China, and that it may open an assembly line in China as part of wider cooperation with Chinese aerospace companies including COMAC, the manufacturer of China’s first domestically-made aircraft, the C919. Beaudoin said that the C919 is not a competitor to the CSeries. “There is room for all types of planes in China. If we can do things to collaborate with COMAC, I’m open for it,” the CEO added.
