Bombardier has received a US$1.44 billion order for 20 of its CSeries jetliners, Bloomberg reported. The order is from Lease Corp. International Aviation, which leases planes to Singapore Airlines and British Airways. The order includes an option for Lease Corp. to buy 20 more planes and comes just weeks after Lufthansa signed an order for 30 CSeries planes.
Bombardier, the world’s third-biggest maker of aircraft, plans to deliver the first CSeries planes in 2013 as a fuel- efficient version of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.
