Boy marries dog

An infant boy has been married to his neighbours’ dog in an eastern Indian village, to protect him from being killed by wild animals, according to a Reuters report.
Around 150 villagers performed the ceremony in Orissa state, the report said.
The boy had reportedly grow a tooth on his upper gum, with is perceived as a bad omen, making the child prone to attacks by tigers and another animals.
“We performed the marriage because it will overcome any curse that might fall on the child as well on us,” the boy’s father, Sanarumala Munda, was quoted as saying.
