Brits heading to UAE hotspots this Christmas

Booking data at leading long haul holiday company Southall Travel has revealed Dubai as the most popular hot spot for Brits spending Christmas abroad this year, with the neighbouring Emirate of Abu Dhabi taking second place.
Research conducted by Southall Travel suggests that many British holidaymakers are dreaming of a warm Christmas this year, with destinations across the UAE enjoying average temperatures in the mid 20’s during December.
The Thai capital of Bangkok is the third most popular long-haul destination amongst British travellers this Christmas, followed by the sun-kissed island nation of Mauritius.
The Big Apple completes the list of the top five most popular destinations this festive season.

- Maldives

Whilst overall, Mauritius is the fourth most popular destination over the Christmas period, the island nation is the fastest growing destination with bookings up a whopping 65% on the same period last year.
The Emirate city of Abu Dhabi is the second fastest growing destination (up 59%), followed by Phuket (up 57%).
Jaymin Borkhatria, Sales Director at Southall Travel comments: “We are seeing a significant surge of bookings for travel over the festive period which suggests more and more Brits are looking to experience an alternative Christmas in the sun.”
