Cambodia arrivals climb 2% in 2009

Visitor arrivals to Cambodia are expected to have reached 2.18 million in 2009 - 2% more than the number received in 2008, according to a Phnom Penh Post report, citing Minister of Tourism, Thong Khon. In a televised speech on New Year’s Eve, the minister said that in the first 11 months of the year 1,926,615 people arrived in Cambodia – 1.6% more than the same period a year earlier. Khon then estimated that December arrivals would reach about 260,000.
