Over 40,000 Cambodians have packed into Phnom Penh’s Olympic stadium to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Khmer Rouge, the BBC has reported.
In his address to the crowds Senate President, Chea Sim, hailed “those who sacrificed their lives to save us from genocide”.
The event, called “Victory over genocide”, saw traditional dancers, a marching band, and parade floats, while at the end, doves and balloons were released into the air.
