The State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) of Cambodia is working with Siem Reap Airways to try to remove the carrier from the European blacklist, the Phnom Penh Post has reported.
“The SSCA is confident that, through a good cooperation between the airline and the authorities, in close consultation with EU services, solutions will be rapidly found and implemented to remedy the deficiencies,” an SSCA statement said.
Siem Reap Airways issued a statement last week saying that the ban does not apply to the carrier’s airplanes since none are registered in Cambodian. In addition, the carrier also does not fly any routes to Europe, effectively nullifying the effects of the ban.
