Global hotel chain Carlson Hospitality may end its partnership with India’s Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, the Times of India has reported. Carlson’s exclusive arrangement with Park Plaza and Park Inn brands, of which Sarovar is the master franchisee, comes to an end in December.
“It is highly unlikely that the arrangement would see a renewal,” the newspaper quotes an unnamed Carlson source as saying. The source added that Carlson would prefer to control and manage its brands by itself, and that now has enough knowledge of the Indian market to do just that.
Carlson currently operates 38 properties across India, and owns the Radisson, Regent and Country Inn & Suites brands.
