Major carriers have lowered their targets for Thai business this year following a drop of more than 10% in passenger numbers during the first half of 2009, The Nation reported. JAL, Swiss International and Etihad are among the carrier reporting sharp falls in Thailand passenger traffic, while Lufthansa has decided to postpone plans to use the Airbus A380 on Thai routes, due to sliding demand. Maria Preeprem, Lufthansa’s Airport Services Manager, was reported saying that the carrier’s load factor on its Bangkok services had dropped from 80-90% a year ago to 70-80%.
