Cathay Pacific pens engine maintenance deal

Rolls-Royce has won long-term engine maintenance support deal worth US$250 million from Cathay Pacific. The UK-based enginemaker will provide its TotalCare long-term service support for the Trent 700 engines that power eight new Airbus A330 aircraft. An enhanced engine refurbishment programme for RB211-524 engines that power Cathay’s existing Boeing 747-400 aircraft will also be delivered up to 2013.
Phil Harris, Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace Senior Vice President, said; “We are delighted that Cathay Pacific has endorsed our long-term services support by extending its TotalCare requirements to its entire A330 fleet. In addition it is committing to a major investment in its RB211-524 fleet which will ensure continued efficiency.”
