Celebrity Cruises takes delivery of new luxury liner

MIAMI - April 16, 2010 - Celebrity Cruises today celebrates achieving “a perfect 10.” Richard D. Fain, chairman and CEO of the brand’s parent company, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., and Celebrity’s President and CEO Dan Hanrahan yesterday participated in a shipboard ceremony marking the transfer of ownership of Celebrity Eclipse from shipbuilder Meyer Werft to Celebrity Cruises, bringing the fleet to a total of 10 stunning ships.

On the heels of a series of promotional activities in Hamburg, Germany, and Southampton, England, the 2,850-guest Celebrity Eclipse will be formally named in ceremonies 24 April, and will enter service 26 April, presenting a series of sailings roundtrip from Southampton to the Mediterranean, Russia and Scandinavia throughout the summer. The stylish new ship will offer Caribbean sailings from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, beginning this winter.
