Celebrity Cruises has announced plans to upgrade, or “Solsticize”, its Celebrity Infinity liner. The term refers to the addition of Celebrity’s Solstice Class ships’ facilities, a process which was previously undertaken on its Celebrity Constellation liner. After emerging from a scheduled drydock period on 3 December 2011, Celebrity Infinity will feature ‘AquaClass’ accommodation, the Mediterranean-themed specialty restaurant, Blu, new verandas on the ship’s Celebrity Suites, a new Celebrity iLounge and additional staterooms. “Everything we’ve introduced on our award-winning Solstice Class fleet, and everything we’re adding to our popular Millennium Class ships, is inspired by research into what is most important to guests on holiday,” said Celebrity’s president and CEO Dan Hanrahan. “All of our new venues and attributes - paired with the spectacular service of our highly dedicated crew - are designed to enhance that all-important feeling of getting away and fully enjoying every aspect of Celebrity Cruises upscale onboard experience.” Celebrity Cruises currently plans to similarly refurbish Celebrity Summit in January 2012, followed by Celebrity Millennium in April 2012.
