Central Hotel Shanghai is nearing completion of a complete makeover, with re-opening scheduled for 1 November 2011. The Worldhotels First Class Collection affiliate, located adjacent to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall, closed in March for six months of extensive renovations costing around CNY1.7 billion (US$266 million).
The facelift has been given to all 319 rooms, seven restaurants and bars, meeting rooms, fitness centre and sauna, was undertaken by local design company, Xinlin.
“Central Hotel Shanghai has always been a popular choice for both business and leisure travellers for its prime location and for offering a genuine flavour of Shanghai. The stunning new makeover promises to make this distinctive hotel even more attractive among hotels in Shanghai”, said Worldhotels’ Vice President for Asia Pacific, Roland Jegge.
