Singaporean travel company, Chan Brothers Travel has reported better-than-expected sales from its recent travel fair. Sales figures from the company’s ‘Monster Travel Fair’, held on 7 August, exceeded the SG$10 million (US$8.3 million) target, hitting SG$12 million. This total was also 20% more than last year’s event. The company reported strong demand for destinations including China, Europe, Taiwan, South Korea, the US and Australia.
Chan Brothers’ Group Managing Director, Anthony Chan said; “Despite slight blimps on the horizon with the current market fluctuations, the Singapore economy is still strong with a forecasted steady growth of five to six percent in 2011, which bodes well for the travel industry. For the upcoming NATAS fair, we hope to achieve 10 to 20 percent above the SG$12 million we achieved for the same NATAS fair the previous year.”
