Chandigarh to push golf tourism

Chandigarh, in the foothills of India’s Himalayas, is set to promote golf tourism, Anil Mathur reports. The city boasts of five courses, including the Chandigarh Golf Course, adjacent to the Sukhna Lake, and the Panchkula Golf Club, located along the bank of River Ghaggar. The area also has a Golf Academy. These facilities are now being used to put a golf tourism package for domestic and international tourists and golfers, according to DK Tiwari, Managing Director of the Chandigarh Tourism Corporation, which, along with Chandigarh Tourism, mounted a campaign to boost this segment of tourism in New Delhi on 16 September.
