The two organisations will focus on identifying and investing in mid-size Chinese airport that shows promises of strong growth.
As well as get highly involved in the management of operations at these facilities.
This strategy will allow CAI to break into the otherwise complex Chinese market as an added advantage to being the first joint venture between the Shenzen Airport Group and a foreign company.
CAI would hold a 49% stake in the Joint Venture (JVCo) and Shenzhen the remaining 51%.
Shenzhen Airport is recorded as the 4th largest airport in China in terms of passenger volume, having a total of 18mppa.
According to Mr. Chow Kok Fong, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airports International; ‘I like to think the joint venture demonstrates yet again our commitment to the future of China, and, in particular, its aviation sector.”
