Children injured in Thailand amusement park accident
At least 28 children were injured, including four critically, when part of an elevated amusement park watercourse collapsed at Siam Park in Bangkok on Saturday.
The “Super Spiral” water-slide accident occurred during Thailand’s Children’s Day when joints holding segments of the popular ride collapsed, Bangkok Post reported.
Some children plunged about five metres into the edge of the slide’s pool.
Saturday’s accident follows a fatality at the park in October, when the Indiana Log ride malfunctioned, causing the death of one woman and injuring several children.
The owner of Siam Park has announced he wants to sell the 28-year-old amusement park after the latest accident, the report said.
