The China Tourism and Hotel Association has removed the section of its regulations that required guests to check out of hotels before midday. According to a Shanghai daily report, hotel guests were previously obliged to pay half a day’s room charge if checking out after 12pm, and a full-day if checking out after 6pm. The new ruling means that hotels will be able to modify their check-out times as required.
