China has urged the improved management of outbound tour groups to avoid tourists behaving badly when travelling overseas. Xinhua reported the country’s National Tourism Administration (NTA) as saying that travel agencies should provide tourists with more information in relation to the laws and customs of their destination, and inform travellers about their obligations during the trips. Tour group leaders also need to take greater responsibility for controlling their parties, the NTA said. The announcement follows several reports of disputes and fights involving mainland Chinese tourists in Hong Kong and Taiwan during the recent Spring Festival.
