China to build HK-Macau bridge

Construction on a bridge linking Hong Kong, Macau and the Pearl River Delta is expected to start in 2009, Xinhua has reported. The project, which will receive a CNY5 billion (US$730 million) investment from the Chinese government, will stretch 29km, connecting the China’s three major southern cities of Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai.
