China to develop North Korea road

The government of the northern Chinese province of Jilin has agreed to invest CNY300 million (US$43.9 million) to upgrade a road linking the North Korean border town of Wonjong-ri to the port of Rajin, the Korea Herald has reported. The existing 60km road is currently unpaved. According to the report, China has also started renovating the bridge between Wonjong-ri and Hunchun, on the Chinese side of the border.
