China to shed light on tourist caves
Managers at the famous Mogao Grottoes in China’s Gansu Province, plan to introduce a modern lighting system to highlight the ancient paintings and relics contained within. Xinhua has reported that tourists can presently only see the 1,600 year-old artworks with flashlights, but if tests are successful, the UNESCO World Heritage Site will get a new illumination system next year.
