China’s quake pandas to return home

More than 80 giant pandas will return to the Wolong nature Reserve in China’s Sichuan province next year, when their earthquake-hit homes are rebuilt. Xinhua reported that the pandas, which were left homeless after the huge 8.0-magnitude earthquake hit Sichuan province in 2008, are currently houses in the Bifeng Gorge base in Ya’an, 13 hours’ drive from Wolong. Zhang Hemin, head of the China Giant Panda Protection & Research Center, was reported saying that the rebuilding of all facilities at the Wolong Nature Reserve is on schedule for be completed before the end of 2012.
