A Chinese farmer has invented a pair of electric shoes which he claims enable wearers to run more than 100 miles (161km) per day. Orange News reported that the shoes, devised by inventor Zhao Xueqin, of Henan province, are effectively battery-powered roller skates which feature headlights, indicators, brakes and brake lights. The wearer can achieve speeds of up to 24kph. Zhao said he was inspired to invent the shoes for children in rural areas in China who have to travel long distances to go to school.
