Airline pilots have reacted with alarm to news that the minimum safety distance between aircraft using African airspace has been halved, The Times of London has reported. While the implementation of the Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) brings Africa in line with global standards, pilots on the continent believe that some African airlines do not have sufficiently modern equipment to safely judge distances.
