17 November 2009: The exclusive twin-island resort of Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has opened a new adults-only ‘quiet zone’ on Rangali Island, featuring the first over-water swimming pool in the Maldives, Lounge bar and a new-look Koko Grill restaurant, offering sea level dining on the white sandy beach.
The contemporary chill-out area is designed to enhance the facilities on Rangali Island, which is home to 50 luxurious Water Villas as well as the Over-Water Spa, Vilu restaurant and the under-ground Wine Cellar. The new 12 metre squared infinity pool complements the main pool on Rangalifinoholu Island which is the centre point of the island’s relaxation area, catering for adults and families alike.
By day, the Lounge Bar will provide the perfect sunbathing spot, serving light snacks and drinks accompanied by a backdrop of ambient tunes under the shade of a tented canopy. By night, the newly enhanced and enlarged Koko Grill will offer a nine-course menu of Japanese delights; from Gyuu Notataki, Black Angus Beef Tataki, Ponzu sauce with fresh garlic, to Indian Ocean Lobster in a butter soy sauce, all served al-fresco in the ultimate beach-dining experience.
Situated on a picturesque corner of the Maldives and spread across two islands, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is unique in offering three distinct resort experiences; with 79 exotic Beach Villas on Rangalifinoholu Island; 50 luxurious Water Villas on Rangali Island and 21 fabulous Spa Water Villas with private treatment room, adjoining the Spa Retreat set on stilts off the main island. Two additional Sunset Water Villas set in their own private lagoon and reached by speedboat or private walkway also provide the ultimate in escapism.
