The Hotel Adriatic, one of Croatia’s best-known boutique properties, is undergoing a £2.4 million refurbishment with a view to transforming the 100-year-old property into a world-renowned art-themed hotel.
Renovation work began in January and includes collaborations with renowned artists and designers from across Europe.
Once the refurbishment is complete, Hotel Adriatic will comprise 18 luxury guestrooms, including two suites, along with a French brasserie style restaurant on the ground floor and a hotel bar offering Croatia’s largest selection of whiskeys.
The new art hotel, which is located in the northern Croatian town of Rovinj, will feature an impressive and unique collection of more than 100 art works. Bespoke installations have been created specifically for the hotel, which will be complimented by smaller works displayed on the walls of each guestroom and communal areas throughout the building, to resemble an art studio.
Hotel Adriatic’s art collection includes works that have been exhibited at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, MAXXI in Rome and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, Croatia. Contributors include Abdelkader Benchamma, Igor Eškinja, Goran Petercol, Massimo Uberti and Valentin Ruhry.
