Residents in flood-hit areas of Queensland are now fearing an infestation of snakes and crocodiles, Channel NewsAsia has reported. Rumours of crocodile sightings swept the besieged town of Rockhampton, while snakes, including highly venomous taipans, have been reported in the town centre. The crocodiles have been flushed from nearby rivers by the rising floodwaters.
