It just goes to show that no matter how good the intentions, one bad apple will always try to spoil things for the majority. On the week that direct cross-strait passenger and cargo flights were relaunched connecting China and Taiwan, one flight was found to contain 30kg of smuggled drugs, Reuters reported. The ketamine, worth TW$930,000 (US$27,000) was discovered on Thursday, on an unnamed Chinese carrier.
“I can’t say this was beyond our imagination,” Lin Shu-chi, Deputy Taipei Customs Office head, was reported saying.
