Bangladesh and India are said to have joined together with a number of other countries that are quite enthusiastic in reviving the Trans Asian Railway.
The southern passage of the planned Asian rail network will connect Kunming province in China, bordering Vietnam, with Kapikule in Bulgaria in the European peninsula on an 11,460-km line.
The cities to be linked include Bangkok, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Iran and Turkey allowing travelers from India more travel destination options.
The network will be designed to hook up with existing trunk routes of participating countries to allow travelers the flexibility of places to break their journey.
The development of the new rail-network will also greatly improve transport linkages between Asia and Europe and facilitate the movement of goods and containers across these countries.
