Heavy rains in the Philippines over the past two weeks have triggered flash floods and landslides, leading to the deaths of at least 47 people, Channel NewsAsia reported the country’s government as saying. The National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council said that more than 18,000 people had been evacuated from the worst-hit areas.
