Delhi Metro extends service

The Delhi Metro has added 2.76km of track and two more stations to its network, extending the route from Dwarka Sector 9 to Dwarka Sector 21. The city-wide service now has a route network of 156km, with total of 132 metro stations. Meanwhile the government has approved the start of preliminary work on Phase three of the Delhi Metro which is expected to add nearly 70km to the network. If some suggestions of the transport department are accepted, this increase may be almost 100km.
