ANA has reported operating performance results for July which show continued recovery in demand for international and domestic air travel. Revenue seat kilometres (RSK) have risen consistently month-by-month since April, with International routes already showing growth on 2010 results.
The airline registered a load factor of 75.6% on international routes, taking the first half average to 68.3%. RSK rose 14.4% year on year in July, with strong growth on Asian/Oceania (+34.6%) and US (+15.4%) routes, although European travel to and from Japan fell 12.7%.
Domestic demand is also gradually recovering from disasters earlier in the year, but is still short of 2010 levels. In July, RSK was down 6.3% against a minor capacity increase of 0.6%, which contributed to a load factor of 59.3%.
