India will require 1,150 aircraft in the next 20 years costing INR4,130 arabs (US$89.1 billion), which surpasses the forecast made by Boeing last year by more than 150 aircraft. According to Dinesh Keskar, Head of Boeing India, the upward revision includes 50 Boeing 737s and 100 twin aisles. Domestic air traffic in India grew by 207% in the last decade, according to Boeing. The aircraft maker is currently in talks with Air India over compensation for the delayed delivery of a 787 Dreamliner, which is now scheduled for the end of the first quarter or early second quarter of 2011.
