Online travel agent Directline Holidays has reported that bookings for its all-inclusive package holidays have risen by 11% year-on-year following a spate of discounts, some of which offer as much as 50% off the original price.
The company also confirmed that its overall passenger figures had exceeded those of last year already.
Maria Whiteman CEO of Directline Holidays said: “Package holidays are a popular choice with our customers who want to be able to budget for their holiday without being hit by hidden charges. All-inclusive holidays in particular offer great value for money, especially for families who don’t want to spend a fortune on dining out overseas. The recent price reductions caused by the heat wave means that there are currently some exceptional deals available online with huge reductions on packages departing within the next few weeks, so for those who haven’t yet booked their summer holiday, now is the time to do so.”
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) also released recent figures saying that all-inclusive holidays were on the rise. Overall 48% of those who booked an overseas holiday in 2012 were on a package, a 1% increase on 2011 (47%) and a large increase on 2010’s 37%.
