Disney’s Chief Executive Robert Iger has said that his company is “quite resilient” to the current economic slowdown. The BBC has reported Iger stating that the group’s global theme parks, including the ailing Disneyland Hong Kong, were holding up “extremely well”. However he did warn the current problems may continue.
“As we go into 2009 we believe that the challenges we faced in 2008 will still exist, and as we manage the company we’re managing it with that in mind,” Iger said on a visit to the UK. In July Disney reported a 9% rise in net quarterly profits.
