Pope Benedict XVI has said that he is praying for an end to Alitalia’s current problems, Reuters has reported. Pontiffs have used the Italian national carrier to fly him across the globe for the past 40 years, and the crisis affecting the airline evidently plays hard on the mind of the present Catholic Church leader
“I’ve been praying for you for a while,” Pope Benedict told Augusto Fantozzi, the carrier’s government-appointed administrator, before boarding an Alitalia flight in Rome on Saturday.
