dnata travel recently announced the development of new tours and services designed to care for needs of Muslim travellers.
The packages are aptly titled ‘holidays tailored for you’. The programme offers Muslim holidaymakers packages that allow them to practice their faith easily at a number of destinations such as Zanzibar, Kuala Lumpur and Geneva.
The packages include Muslim-friendly hotel accommodations, many of which serve halal food; have prayer rooms on-site, provide prayer mats, Qurans and Qibla indicators in every room, come with alcohol-free minibars and offer Ramadan-focused catering options. In addition to hotels, dnata travel also customise holidays, including excursions operated by Muslim staff.
“Halal tourism is one of the fastest growing segments representing US$230 billion in annual spending by 2020,” said Abdulla Tawakul, senior vice president, dnata Travel Middle East & India.
The new service will focus on customers in the world’s 57 Muslim countries, with a large portion of bookings expected from Gulf Cooperation Council countries. dnata travel also expects to attract an interest from customers in Western Europe, including United Kingdom and Spain.
