Doncaster Sheffield Airport has revealed that routes to Amsterdam, Krakow, Barcelona, Poznan and Sharm El Sheikh are the most popular for the Christmas getaway. More than 13,000 passengers are set to travel through the airport over the festive season to visit relatives or for winter sun, ski holidays and city breaks. Mike Morton, director at the airport, also warned passengers to carry presents unwrapped as they will be checked at security. “To keep queuing times to a minimum we’re asking passengers to come prepared and to think about what they are carrying in their hand luggage,” he explained. “We are asking passengers to help us to help them and avoid some of the disappointment we have seen in previous years.”
