Sir Richard Branson’s home in Noosa, Australia, has quietly opened its doors for private lease. Makepeace Island is a 25 acre authentic Balinese built property offering luxurious accommodation for up to 22 guests. Located on an island in the Noosa River, the property was designed for privacy and developed in keeping with the natural environment.
It has traditionally been reserved for family and friends of the owners Sir Richard Branson and Brett Godfrey, founders of Virgin Blue (now Virgin Australia). However, Branson recently announced plans to open it up to others, offering a sneak pick on the property’s website www.makepeaceisland.com which goes live today.
“When neither Brett nor myself are visiting Makepeace, we will make the island and its facilities available for others to enjoy the tranquillity of what is a very special place,” he said.
Makepeace Island features a full sized tennis court and pavillion, spa facilities, theatre, a two-storey open aired Balinese wantilan, 500,000 litre lagoon pool, office facilities and an expansive indoor bar designed for entertaining on a grand scale.
