Boeing stopped production more than a month ago on two sections for the 787 Dreamliner after wrinkles were discovered in sections of fuselage, Bloomberg has reported. The flaws were found on 23 airplanes, Boeing spokesperson, Loretta Gunter, was reported saying. Boeing ordered work to stop on 23 June Gunter said – same day the planemaker indefinitely delayed the 787’s maiden flight and entry into service so that engineers could reinforce some sections along the wing.
“It didn’t have any material impact on the programme in schedule or cost, so there was no reason to discuss it publicly,” Gunter said of the problem.
