Dusit International has vowed to continue its long-term expansion plans, despite the recent political unrest in Thailand. The group’s Chief Executive Officer, Chanin Donavanik (pictured), said that the country has seen other difficult periods in its 60 years of operating in Thailand, but has always seen visitor numbers rebound faster than feared.
“Our long term plans are well on track with the opening this year of our first Dusit Princess outside of Thailand in Dubai, Dusit Thanis in Cairo and Abu Dhabi in 2010, the first of the six Indian hotels in our joint venture with Bird Hospitality in New Delhi in 2010, and a new Devarana Spa venture in a luxury hotel in Florence,” Donavanik said.
